     The Cardboard Collection

Picture
New art series, ‘The Cardboard Collection’ exploring human vulnerability. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local homeless shelters.
Featured artist William Askew Emor brings his newest work, gripping and gritty portraits of homeless folks in New York to raise awareness and charity for community shelters and solutions to the issue of homelessness throughout the US. Emor says "With diligence I have my experience, my work speaks on my behalf, this leaves my actions free enough to take hold of the worlds pleas and bring them to light."
Works from artist Sherief Makhail will also be shown. The painter, based in New York, uses art as a platform for Global Change; by working in collaboration with different charities to raise awareness and contributions. Makhail devoted his life to helping children through the sport of karate but turned to painting as a means of personal healing. "Art saved my life", says Makhail. His choice of cardboard “is about finding the beauty in things that are easily discarded. ... vulnerable and ultimately human."
The Cardboard Collection will remain open until February 6th, 2015.
